The Hilt is one of the brands of Screaming Eagle, which produces one of the greatest wines in Napa.

A few words about the producer: Two Hands is owned by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz. Their path to winemaking was not typical, as their parents had no connection to this field. In 1999, the two friends came up with the idea for a joint project called “Two Hands.” The philosophy of Two Hands is expressed simply as “Quality without compromise.” The company’s vineyards are located in the Barossa Valley, whose climate is ideal for the Shiraz variety.

Wine and pairing: The company’s best wine, “Ares,” is made from Australia’s flagship Shiraz variety. The wine captivates with its full, refined, rich taste, silky texture, ripe tannins, and persistent aftertaste. It is an ideal pairing for cigars with a chocolate finish.

«La Rioja Alta» Gran Reserva 890

A few words about the producer: The estate of “La Rioja Alta” was founded in the distant year of 1890 and today includes 4 subsidiary companies and owns 300 hectares of its own vineyards in Rioja. The company’s goal today is to constantly improve its wines, and thanks to its high quality, in March 2002 “La Rioja Alta” topped the list of the top 20 wine houses of the 20th century in the Rioja region according to “Decanter” magazine.

Wine and pairing: “Gran Reserva 890” is a great Spanish wine made from the Tempranillo grape variety, which is only produced in years of exceptional harvests and from very old vines. The taste of the wine amazes with its elegance, balance, and strength, which is manifested in a long aftertaste. A perfect pairing for it would be a cigar with a chocolate and woody aroma and a fairly full-bodied taste.

«Chateau Valade» Les Graves de la Valade

A few words about the producer: The producer is located in Saint-Martin, north of Bordeaux, and has been offering consumers magnificent noble drinks for four generations. In 1982, the enterprise passed to Jean-Claude Caso, who managed to increase the inheritance by replanting most of the vineyards, as well as expanding the property and modernizing the estate.

Wine and pairing: The wine is produced from the classic blend for this region of France – Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and demonstrates an expressive aroma woven from notes of ripe dark fruits, spicy spices, and herbs. An excellent pairing would be a cigar with a light campfire aroma, abundant nutmeg and pepper character.

“Valdespino Amontillado Contrabandista”

A few words about the producer: Quinta do Portal is a winery located in the Douro region of Portugal. Its history is closely related to the Mansilha family, who have been producing magnificent port wines for over a century, and whose roots can be traced back to the 15th century. Thanks to the fact that the company owns its own vineyards, there is a unique opportunity to control the entire process of creating wine, from the vine to the cellar.

Wine and pairing: The vintage port blend includes four classic varieties. The well-integrated level of alcohol allowed the fruity nature of the wine to be fully realized, and the silky texture smoothed out the firm tannins and bright acidity that give the wine its power. It will be a perfect complement to the last third of a cigar.

«Quinta do Portal» Vintage 2003

A few words about the producer: Bodegas Valdespino is the oldest producer of sherry, whose cellars have existed for over six centuries. In the late 13th century, Spanish knight Alonso Valdespino was rewarded with 30 hectares of vineyards by the Spanish king. Thus began the history of this initially small family business, now known all over the world. Valdespino now owns 400 hectares of vineyards, but the producer still adheres to traditional production methods.

Wine and pairing: An elegant, perfectly balanced semi-dry sherry, created from two grape varieties – Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximenez, grown on the famous Macharnudo vineyards in the Jerez region. The fairy-tale balanced taste of sherry is balanced by bright acidity, and the aroma is dominated by notes of toasted hazelnuts, caramel, and creamy fudge. The taste and aroma will complement a cigar with woody and earthy tones.
